transition coaching

When working with clients, I spend time to understand your world, where you are at and the catalyst for you wanting to explore further a transition that you are experiencing within your work or life.

Whilst change is an external, visible shift – like changing role, changing employer, changing location – the transition is the corresponding internal, psychological reorientation that happens alongside this. Often this goes unrecognised. However, for changes in our lives to work well for us and to be sustainable, it is important for us to be mindful of this transition and to manage this well within ourselves and our lives.

We will uncover where you are at in your transition experience, and reveal why you have been feeling the way that you have. Often, in our work together we will experience a period of reorientation and sense-making, as well as exploring the fundamental question of what would be a great outcome for you of this transition.

Through working in this space since 1997, I have learnt that it is important to work in an organic and fluid way that reflects the uniqueness of each client. Therefore, I don’t offer packages of coaching, but work in an intuitive way that reflects the client’s needs. Typically, what I find is that clients need between 2-6, 1.5-hour sessions, and you are in control of this along with the timeliness of our meetings. However, I do recommend that we have some space between meetings, to allow your own reflective practice to further reveal your own insights through sub-conscious learning. Often the answers to the questions that we bring are within ourselves. Whilst transition and career coaching are explored separately on my website for ease, in reality they are often interwoven.

My coaching approach is tailored to clients, and I will draw upon the relevant insights, research, tools and readings to inform our journey together. Often, I recommend existing activities, or I may design one pertinent to you.

We can work face to face at Lilac Cottage, a calm haven in Bunny, Nottinghamshire. Alternatively, we can work virtually. Furthermore, I am flexible to work from a different location, and we can talk about where that might be and what that would mean for us in terms of time and cost.

My individual areas of expertise include: career coaching, transition coaching, finding your purpose, mid-life career reinvention, later-life work, protirement coaching, living with resonance, spiritual development.

“As a young start up we are often offered support in various forms, I can say,  without hesitation, that the single most contributing factor in what we achieved last year has been the impartial advice and direction provided by our sessions with Cathy. As a young organisation, we found that often our enthusiasm could be more of a hindrance than an advantage; clouding our direction. Cathy has an incredible ability to take your passion and enthusiasm and, in a moment of clarity, channel this into objectives, deliverables, drive and motivation. This not only sustains the passion for what you do but your business.”
